Yie Ar Kung-Fu 2: The Emperor Yie-Gah is a sequel to the MSX / Famicom (NES) version of Yie Ar Kung-Fu, rather than the versions directly based on the arcade release. The game follows the quest of Lee Young, the main character from the previous game, to become a kung-fu master. This involves fighting with a wide range of opponents in a traditional one-on-one 2D environment. Lee Young has a wide range of attack moves he can use to lower his opponent's life bar, including traditional punching and kicking attacks as well as jumping ones. Opponents are well equipped with unique weapons and attacks.

Description from the packaging:

Presenting the sequel the arcade demanded! Lee Young, only son of Lee, Kung Fu Master, has returned home to do what his father could not.

Conquer the wicked Emperor Yen Pei and his seven Warlords. Lee wields all of his father's weapons, and then some. His awesome Oolong Tea Power and Chow Mein Noodle Power give him the strongest 1-2 punch in all of martial arts.

But even that won't be enough. Not without the steady hand and wise guidance of a Higher Power.
 Lee is calling.
 Will you answer?
